Our 1st Summer Community Support & Emergency Needs Event! June 27, 2026, Pacana Park in Maricopa, AZ
Helping Others Like Me! is preparing for our 1st Summer Community Support & Emergency Needs Event to help foster families with the extra costs that come when kids are home all day. Summer brings higher food expenses, childcare challenges, and the need for more clothing, hygiene items, and activity supplies. We’re gathering essentials like healthy snacks, meals, outdoor clothing, shoes, summer activity items, and even back to school supplies/backpacks; all to keep kids supported and smiling. This season, we’re rallying our community to ensure no foster family feels the strain alone.

🌟 Event starts at 8am and ends at 12noon.
🌟 Our goal is to hand out backpacks filled with essentials, fun surprises, snacks, and juice boxes to every foster child and every child in crisis who attends our event. We’re also hoping to bless each child with summer outfits, socks, and shoes. And for our older foster children, we would love to provide gift cards so they can choose an outfit or two that fits their style and confidence.

Our mission is to support foster children, children in crisis and the families who care for them by providing affordable, reliable, and compassionate help when it’s needed most. We exist to lighten the financial and everyday burdens that come with giving these kids a better life, so families can focus on what truly matters — creating stability, hope, and a safe place to grow.

As foster parents of nine years now, we understand firsthand the challenges these families face. We started this organization to make sure no child feels forgotten and no caregiver feels alone.
Foster children who were exposed to drugs or alcohol before birth often face lifelong health challenges that families must manage every day. These challenges can affect their development, behavior, learning, and overall well‑being. Many have also endured abuse or neglect before entering care, adding layers of trauma that require stability, patience, and specialized support. At the same time, foster parents carry the emotional, physical, and financial weight of meeting these needs — navigating therapies, medical appointments, school struggles, and daily behavioral challenges while providing stability, love, and patience.
